Take a bite of that pineapple reflect and tell me how it tastes it only cost about four dollars you wipe your mouth and say "that's great" Now take your bike out of the closet it's been waiting there for months fill the tires with compressed air consider inflating your lungs some complain about mondays some complain about the mundane but you and I try to find the joy in the little things "hey Doug, I was wondering, could you give us some examples of some inspiration in everyday life" Uh yeah. Things like: The ladybug who relieves itself on your jeans The northern lights that shine so bright through poplar trees The summer sun, when noon is high, a gentle breeze, it whispers... Now take a walk with me in the valley we'll watch the river run away you reach for my hand and say "I like this" and I reply "yeah, I guess it's okay" And some complain about mondays some complain about the mundane but you and I try to find the joy in the little things the little things

When I was a young lad, I was very chubby and doing some running would have done me some good. Every night before bed I'd stare at the ceiling, hands folded and kneeling, just praying out for love. But with you in my arms, with you in arms, with you in my arms I could fall asleep. I stand before you now, a man who is broken, and in turn has broken more than I'd care to share. Though I try to be good, I still stare at the ceiling, praying for someone to come by my way. But with you in my arms, with you in arms, with you in my arms I could fall asleep. When I finally die, will there be any grieving before announcing the contents of my will. When I leave this world, I won't be the one haunting or psychically taunting from beyond the grave. With you in my arms, with you in my arms, with you in my arms I could rest in peace.

We may wander and we may roam every step on our father's bones. These cities rose up, up from the ground, but in time they'll blow back down. Oh the Wind Will Blow Dead Leaves into the Snow Washed up in the Tide Upon the Shores of Time But tonight: Your hand on my heart Your hand on my heart I need your hand on my heart Oh the Wind Will Blow Dead Leaves into the Snow Washed up in the Tide Upon the Shores of Time But tonight: If our souls should choose to rise and make our homes in the afterlife Could we look back upon our lives? What could we see in the blink of an eye? Oh the Wind Will Blow

The band fell asleep in the van after the show but I was feelin restless, so I wandered the streets alone I couldn't see the stars beyond the streetlight but over the sky an old friend arrived When dusk fell on the dawn of time (when we saw you) And mankind was realized (when we saw you) Did we look at the sky (when we saw you) and call a the moon? The moon My grandfather's father and those who came before they followed the stars across oceans and into wars and if they'd known that the zodiac changed would our history books be read the same? When dusk fell on the dawn of time (when we saw you) And mankind was realized (when we saw you) Did we look at the sky (when we saw you) and call a the moon? The moon

You were never one to stick around Always out getting lost, never want to be found. You say the wind is blowing, it's whispering your name, All I hear is your pick-up truck, I guess they sound the same. You can dig for silver and gold, but you can't mine the northern lights. And you can chase the sun all day but the moon still brings the night. You were always one to pick up and go. Said you found a life for yourself somewhere on the road. Every time I've seen you leave you never blow a kiss. I guess you'll come back around with the next lunar eclipse. You can dig for silver and gold, but you can't mine the northern lights. And you can chase the sun all day but the moon still brings the night. You look me in the eyes and promise that you'll stay. But every time you roll into town you never unpack your bags. You can dig for silver and gold, but you can't mine the northern lights. And you can chase the sun all day but the moon still brings the night. credits

If I could alter space & time, I'd explore galaxies with you by my side, and we'd watch the sun set over the lakes of Mars. (Is there lakes on mars?) I'd bring Trotsky, Trudeau, and even Trebek, and you would act as the honored poet laureate to romanticize every gesture suggested. But they'd all run out of things to say 'cause they don't have much in common anyways. Well I don't know what I'm talking about but I could talk to you all night. And I could stare into your eyes until they're out of sight. I had a dream the other night where I lived a life, and then I died and when I got to heaven God wanted to have a 'chat'. He said that everyone is only a figment of my own thoughts, and my existence and how I treated them was how I treated myself. It didn't make much sense at the time, but in a way, you know, my dream was right. Well, I don't know what I'm talking about but I could talk to you all night. And I could stretch every inch of truth until it wraps around a lie. And I don't know what I'm going on about, but I could go with you all night. And I could stare into your eyes, until they're out of sight. Until they're out of sight.

Tattoo 03:52
The heart is the part of the body that you cannot tattoo but I have a fear that mine has been marked by you. If I got a religious symbol tattooed on my back would it be sacrilegious if I itched and scratched? So if you want to know why I'll never get a tattoo (it's because) I've been saving every inch of my body for you Now I've seen some ink that looks wonderful but I'd never let it define the individual. For if it didn't turn out well that's the way life goes; even the sharpest thorn is still part of a rose So if you want to know why I'll never get a tattoo (it's because) I've been saving every inch of my body for you.

The shelf beside my bed is cluttered with junk: scraps of paper and change, wrappers from bubblegum. But up on the top shelf there's a ticket for a play, the one we were both in where we learnt each other's names These are the things I don't need and these are the things that I'll keep The blue pants that you bought me from the vintage store, well they're corduroy and don't fit so well anymore. I can get my legs in, but the pockets aren't deep. I can't zip up the fly, can't fit my rear in the seat. These are the things I don't need but these are the things that I'll keep I find my nights are restless, so long and so cold. I keep wandering around, ever since you let me go. Put on a sweater and go for a walk, no direction here or there. My eyes keep watering up, but the tears go nowhere Cause these are the things I don't need these are the things that I'll keep these are the things I don't need but these are the things that I'll keep

Snow Bank 07:57
I fell asleep in a snow bank that night you pulled me out alive. Do you remember that fateful New Year’s Eve, It was the first time that we kissed, if you believe it anymore, I just don’t know… "Yes I do remember, but I had kissed before, You were attractive to me then, but no longer anymore Oh, please don’t go…" No, I understand, you see me as a friend, Although I saw a little more, than I should have in the end, and now we’re… "…Forgetting all about that, many years have passed, You’ve kissed many girls since then; I’ve got a boyfriend that’ll last, I think…" I fell asleep in a snow bank. That night you pulled me out alive. We’re better off this way, letting the past remain the past Besides, you’re not the one for me; you’ve got such a dark side, you know… "You yourself have many flaws, your not quite so pristine, You were so unconfident with the lights out, so you ran away from me, oh" I fell asleep in a snow bank That night you pulled me out alive. I fell asleep in a snow bank That night alone I could have died. That night alone...
