Welcome Back 01:32
Welcome Back I haven’t seen you for a long, long time, but you’ve been here before. Haven’t seen you for a long, long while, but I’ve been keeping your seat warm. So stretch your legs and rest your feet, there’s nowhere you gotta be. Take a breath and close your eyes, and spend some time with me.
Welcome back, been waiting here for you Welcome back, I’ve got some songs I wanna sing for you

Snail Shell 03:04
Snail Shell We’re packing up our lives taking time for a long goodbye seeing ourselves in the friends we leave behind The u-haul’s locked, it’s time to go we’re in our snail shell slippin down the road it takes a week to watch this continent blur by So chase your dreams I’ll follow wherever you lead I didn’t know what too expect I don’t have any regrets, it’s just a different place in a different time We’ll chase our dreams We’ll follow wherever they lead

Old Ugly House (D. Hoyer / J. Cuming) Park at the hair salon. Don’t knock, just walk right in; broken windows, black mould, and your friends. If you see a guitar, pick it up, sit on the couch or behind the drums. This won’t last, but let’s pretend. So what do you say when you’re passing by in the winter? That old and ugly house is uglier than you remembered. What do you say when it’s all done and gone? Pour yourself a drink, if you can find a clean glass. Do a chin-up on the door, draw a dick on the fridge. You’re nodding off by the fire, the flame couldn’t stay awake. You’re pissing in the backyard, one last time. So what do you say when you’re passing by in September? That old and ugly house is uglier than you remembered. What do you say when you’re passing by in December? That old and ugly house is uglier than you remembered. What do you say when you’re passing by in the winter? “Hey, that ugly house… it’s uglier than I remembered.” What do you say when it’s all done and gone?

Ode to Shows 02:03
Ode to Shows (Packing It In For The Night) You’re heading for the club and waiting for the band to start. There’s no one in the room, the doorman’s playing darts. You’re staring in your phone, thinking you should go, maybe packing it in for the night. There hasn’t been a soundcheck so you’re leaning on the bar. The singer’s making rounds: it’s his night to “be a star”. But you’re only here because the rhythm section’s tight or you’re packing it in for the night. You heard that the opening band got a 7.0 on Pitchfork, but why can’t they start on time? It’s never been done before! And now they’ve got you sippin' on another Miller Lite. Now you’re looking at the merch and everything is overpriced: You wanna buy a shirt but they don’t have your size. You grab one anyway, help them on their way ‘cause they’re doing it night after night. Alright. You think you wanna go and so you’re heading for the door. You take a final step as the band strikes a chord. The heavens open wide, a tear falls from your eye, guess you’re sticking around for the night. You’re sticking around for the night. cha cha cha.

Feel Better 04:14
Feel Better (D. Hoyer, SOCAN/BMI) tired of talking to yourself so you sing to your cat the fur ball unfurls a yawn and peers at the thermostat there’s a world outside your window pull the sheets back from your eyes see a shadow in the corner that’s reaching for your mind look towards tomorrow and all the things you’ve gotta do your mind is running circles but you can hardly move you feel a little better when you get things done you feel a little better when you get out of the house you walk a little taller feel a little stronger feel better fumble through the fridge where condiments are king succumb to a numb hunger if you eat anything you feel a little better when you get things done you feel a little better when you get out of the house you walk a little taller feel a little stronger feel better tired of talking to your cat He’s heard it all before wonders why it took so long for you to step towards the door

It was my first Star Trek convention I'd never been to one of those before Everyone was there that you'd wanna see All of your favourites from TNG I even got to ask Beverly about choreography with David Bowie at my first Star Trek convention I'd never been to one of those before The show gave me hope in a better humanity One without currency or poverty But here they're selling junk and gouging me I'm in the temple shouting "blasphemy" It was my first Star Trek convention I'd never been to one of those before It was my first Star Trek convention I gotta say, I'll probably go to a few more

Stepping Stone (by Doug Hoyer, SOCAN/BMI) I’m a stepping stone, watch the world wash by I’m a stepping stone; Hello, Goodbye I lift you up & keep you on your path Don’t bother looking back You’re on a quest, your journey has an end I wish you luck, my old friend Help you get where you need to go I’m a stepping stone I’m a stepping stone, watch the world wash by I’m a stepping stone; Hello, Goodbye The water’s dark, the water’s deep the current clips along, without sleep I keep my head just above the stream so you can walk all over me and help you get where you need to go I’m a stepping stone I’m a stepping stone, watch the world wash by I’m a stepping stone, hello, goodbye

Do you feel up against the entire world and you can’t see change down the line? When your faith is completely blown away, what’s left to say except goodnight. Then, you see the stars that shine Years ago they sent such light as if to reach your eyes Step outside into the air we’ve sold away hoping our cash will pay for tomorrow’s lives. There, you’ll see the stars that shine. Years ago they sent their light Before our time came and went Before industry had lives to spend Before we copyrighted seeds Before jealousy paired with greed Long before they sold it all Before we thought of building walls Licking hands that never feed Watching brothers as they bleed We were really nothing then, We’re nothing still, let’s not pretend That the universe was made for us A playground that we’ve let rust We’ve tossed away Our world of blue So hold me now, And i’ll hold you And let our iris try to find The ageless ancient stars at night A gentle glow, with no intent, To find our eyes, their journey ends tonight

Into The Wild (by Doug Hoyer, SOCAN) I miss your scent on your pillow Or hearing mistakes when you practice cello I miss your touch and dancing in the kitchen or how you always love whatever I’m cooking When you go back into the wild I’ll be home Waiting for you I’m scared of idle hands gotta keep ‘em busy so I feed the cats keep the furballs purring take out the trash wash some dishes pretend to have a blast watching Netflix When you go Back into the wild I’ll be home All alone Waiting for you

Thank You 02:50
Thank You I wanna thank you for lending me your ear when there’s so much in the world to hear: the song of a grandmother humming on a bus whose brakes are starting to rust or the magpie who wakes the neighbours up, & your roommate, who tells the bird off. the whistle of the kettle whose steam starts to sing the smoke alarm that won’t stop beeping. the wind seeking cracks in your home the seasons reciting their tome the huff of a postman, stepping into fresh snow the calls of kids playing Pokemon Go. I wanna thank you for giving me your time in person or streaming online when you’re spinning a record when you came to a gig it means more to me than you might think so thank you for lending me your ear for being with me throughout the years If only for a moment we’re together in time then it passes, and we say our goodbyes I wanna thank you: thank you
